Electric Lunch Box
Last year our elementary school got rid of microwaves in the cafeteria. I was scrambling! I had only one child that would eat a sandwich and I was limited on ideas for cold lunches that were filling and nutritious. I wrote emails to administration with no response at first. It was apparent that microwaves were not coming back. So, I needed to find a loop hole….and boy did I.
On the Hunt
There were several electric lunch boxes on the market, but they were so expensive. I’m talking $100 to $200+ dollars. I am frugal and definitely was not spending that on something my boys would more than likely break. I came across the Forabest lunch box on Amazon. The price was great, and it was easy for the boys to operate. It warms their food in just 2-3 minutes.
What I Would Change in This Electric Lunch Box
The only thing that I do not like about it is there is only one compartment. It did come with a plastic insert, but we do not use plastic, and I did not want to risk them heating up their lunch box with plastic to leach into their food.
What I do to add a coldish side like fruit is put their fruit in a glass container in the lunch box and just write them a love not to take it out before heating. This has seemed to work well, but that would be the only improvement I would really need to make to this.
Overall Review on This Electric Lunch Box
We are on our second year with this brand of electric lunch boxes and one of them has some definite wear and tear and may need to be replaced soon. Some of the plastic on the lid has been chipping and has made a small hold that sauce and liquid can escape from. Now this is probably because my six-year-old is rough with it and in a hurry to get to recess. But for the price point, I definitely got my money’s worth. It is a great option and I will definitely buy it again.
